6 Month Check-Up

We were a little late for Walker's 6 month check up because of the holidays. Daddy was in charge of picking him up from school and meeting me at the pediatricians office. I failed to remind Daddy of all the things we need while we are at the pediatricians office or may I say things we need any time of the day.....diapers, pacifiers, blankets, bibs, toys etc.........Walker went today without all of these things....and we barely survived:) I think next time Daddy will have his check list ready to go:)

Today was actually a big day for Walker. We only went in for a check up and came out with two prescriptions and four shots. Walker has his first ear infection. He has not shown any symptoms, so it was a little troubling for us. His doctor said that some babies do not show signs and then some babies are miserable. It all depends on the baby. He is now taking Amoxicillin. She also prescribed him Prevacid for acid reflux. He has always spit up a lot, but never cried while eating. He has had a lot of congestion in his chest for a few months now and she believes the spit up may be the cause. Keep us in your thoughts that we get all of this cleared up. I'm so thankful we still have a happy baby.

Walker weighs 20 pounds and for once he is back in the 90 percentile....we are actually within the chart:) She explained to us that breastfed babies start to even out around his age. We have accomplished so much in 6 months. It is so hard to believe he is 6 1/2 months old. He loves oatmeal with any fruit and loves every vegetable except for peas. We are going to try them again. She encouraged us to start trying Level 2 foods and puff cookies.

Walker is a master at rolling over front to back and back to front. He is so quick, he fell off the bed last week. He didn't even cry. An old wives tell says if they fall off the bed before age one they're officially going to be okay:) He is also sitting up so well. And drum roll please............Walker can clap his hands. He was doing this today at the doctors office and she said....wait a minute you aren't suppose to be doing that........yeah.....thats my BOY!!!!!
