We had a very fun 4th of July, just the three of us. A lady in Patrick's office told him about how much fun the 4th of July festival in Southport, NC would be for the family. So we packed up and headed down to Southport for a day of fun. There are two ways to get to Southport, one by road and one by ferry. Since we had never done the ferry before and we thought Walker would love the boat we decided to go via water. Walker was so excited to get on the boat and take a ride. The first thing we did was leave the car and head upstairs to the top of the boat. The ferry ride is about 30 minutes, $5 a car over to Southport. We picked an absolutely beautiful day to explore a new little town.
Driving on the ferry!
Walker was so excited to drive on the big boat.

Checking out the view with Daddy.
He also enjoyed watching the seagulls follow the boat over to Southport.
Gorgeous ride over and the breeze felt awesome with temps being in the high 90's.
You can also see in the distance Bald Head Island.
We made it just in time for the Official North Carolina 4th of July parade. More than 50,000 people attend this festival in a town of less than 3,000 residents. Patrick and I were really amazed at the amount of people at the festival. Nothing like what we were expecting. We had a great time watching the parade, eating funnel cake, drinking fresh squeezed lemonade and walking through the craft booths.

Watching the parade with Mommy and Daddy!
I couldn't resist taking a picture of the "Pooper Scooter".
Yes, that's a clown on a motorized potty:)
Walker thought he was so funny.
Everyone please let me introduce you to, Duckie.

We found this wooden duck at one of the booths. Walker named him, Duckie.
Duckie now goes EVERY WHERE with us:)
We look forward to going back to Southport next year. It's such a cute little town. The best part about moving to a new city is exploring new places and making more memories together!

I want to go, too. Think I might not like the "driving onto the ferry"though. Looked like a lot of fun. You three are precious and I'm happy that you make so many special outings for Walker. He's learning so much by experiencing all new things and places. love you
